It seems like Split Fiction might be making its way to the big screen. According to a Variety report, Story Kitchen is taking the reins on this project, focusing on assembling the right team of actors, writers, and a director. They’re no strangers to such endeavors, as they’ve previously been involved with other adaptations like Hazelight’s It Takes Two, which Amazon is currently working on, as well as versions of Toejam and Earl, Slim Rancher, and Vampire Survivors.
The buzz around this adaptation is significant, with offers reportedly pouring in from several top-tier Hollywood studios eager to get in on the action.
Split Fiction made quite an impressive debut when it launched in March, selling a million copies in just the first 48 hours and hitting two million by the end of its first week. Hazelight’s response to this success was nothing short of ecstatic, with a post on Bluesky expressing their amazement: “Holy crap, we’re blown away! Simply amazing,” they said, adding, “Thank you to all of our new and old fans – we love how excited you are for our game.”
As for the It Takes Two movie, it’s already got some star power with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, and the script is in the capable hands of Pat Casey and Josh Miller, the minds behind Sonic the Hedgehog.
