I’m at the GameSir booth, right? CES 2025 or something. No clue why I ended up here, but GameSir’s been on my radar, making some controllers that aren’t just fancy paperweights. These guys hit the trifecta of quality, value, and — dare I say — excitement? Anyway, I’m holding this controller, the GameSir G7 Pro, and it’s like they’ve almost granted my wish for a wireless Xbox version. Spoiler: almost.
So, get this — it’s wireless on everything, until you get to Xbox. Yeah, let that sink in. Teasers were all “yay, wireless for all!” but Xbox players got the short end. Something about Microsoft’s quirks with Xbox Wireless. It’s funny, or maybe sad. Not sure.
Despite my shattered dreams, this G7 Pro is still a beast under $100. You do need a wire for Xbox, though. GameSir assured me that might change later. Fingers crossed, I guess.
Let’s talk deets. The controller’s got this sturdy feel — proper grips, swappable bits like faceplates (which are see-through — odd yet cool?), and rumble motors. It vibrates just right. Not that you needed to know, but hey. Plus, a charging stand comes in that box, not too shabby.
There’s all this techy stuff: TMR thumbsticks — whatever that means — and some gyroscope wizardry. Price? $80. Sounds like a steal.
But no controller’s perfect, right? Analog triggers are shallow. I’m picky like that. Rear buttons could use texture. Oh, and the D-Pad is like squishy bread, no matter which one you pick. It’s a bit of a mess. If only magnets held the controller on its charging stand — seriously, magnets.
Comparing it to my pal the Wolverine V3 Pro, the G7 Pro’s swinging above its league. Twice the cost, but Wolverine doesn’t even throw in a stand or Bluetooth. Fair trade-off? Debatable.
Oh yeah, it’s not quite wireless on Xbox, yet I hear GameSir’s brewing a new version. Don’t quote me, just jugglin’ thoughts here, but around $100 for a special Xbox edition isn’t off the table. Patience might pay off.
The G7 Pro isn’t just another gadget — it’s personal now. I’ve got kids and pets; wires and chaos don’t mix. Much as I dig the thing, I’ll stick to Wolverine V3 Pro until there’s a wireless Xbox version. But when that day comes, I might just have a new favorite.
Wrap it up, right? If you vibe with PC and can Bluetooth it up, it’s your lucky $80 day. Xbox folk? Hold out a bit. Something tells me GameSir’s next move will be worth the wait.
