Alright, so here I am, trying to wrap my head around the latest tech thingy from Meta. Ya know, the folks who used to be obsessed with just social media and now they’re knee-deep in the whole metaverse craze. Anyway, I stumbled across this blog or update or whatever you wanna call it, and apparently, they’ve slapped some new AI gizmos onto their Horizon Worlds desktop editor. They’re claiming it’s gonna make whipping up these virtual environments so much easier. Hmm, we’ll see about that.
So here’s what they’re blabbing about — two big doodads called ‘Creator Assistant’ and ‘Style Reference’. I can almost hear the tech geeks geeking out. Creator Assistant sounds like it’s this sidekick you never knew you needed. Helps out with stuff like jotting down ideas and scribbling scripts. And it talks back in natural language? – I mean, what language isn’t natural? But okay, right, maybe it can help those who are flying solo or the tiny teams who don’t have a million dollars to burn.
And then there’s the Style Reference thing. Name sounds kinda artsy, right? It’s supposed to let you keep things looking and sounding the same across everything you’re building. I was like, “Cool, that means less boring setup work,” but at the same time, isn’t the whole idea of creating about experimenting and messing around a bit?
By now, probably worth mentioning that they’re rolling this stuff out in more places — India, Singapore, Vietnam, Brazil, and a bunch of other spots. Sounds like they’re going global, baby!
And as I’m scrolling, half-distracted, I catch that they’re also stuffing extra AI-powered bells and whistles into the mix. Things like 3D mesh (whatever that is), some sky audio what-not for ambient vibes. If the Gen AI help guide’s got all the goodies, maybe I should peek? Or not.
Anyway, did I lose my point? Probably. But there it is. A little messy, maybe not perfect, but when is life ever?
