Hey, folks. It’s Square Glade Games poking our heads in! So, guess what? Outbound—our chill little open-world game—is cruising over to PlayStation 5. You can go it alone or drag three friends along for the ride. Basically, you’re starting with this bare-bones camper van and heading out into the wild to scrounge for stuff, craft bits and bobs, and turn that hunk of metal into your dream on wheels. Not gonna lie, it’s kinda addictive.
I’m Marc Volger, co-founder here, spilling the beans to our PlayStation peeps. I’ll chat a bit about our game, but Tobi Schnackenberg, my partner in crime (or co-creating, whatever), will jump in with some vibes about what sparked life into Outbound.
Alright, so “cozyvival”—yeah, we made that up. It was after some player feedback during Alpha, and it just stuck. Seems like folks dig the mix of chill survival stuff like keeping your energy up, grabbing goodies from the environment, and growing your own greens, all while living that low-pressure van life. Honestly, a sweet mash-up some games don’t quite get. But we found that groove, and bam, that’s Outbound for you.

### Ambling solo or spirited multiplayer spree?
Flying solo in Outbound is like dropping off the grid—resource gathering and pimping out your camper at your own speed. It’s kinda like being the boss of your own little universe. But slap in three buddies, and it’s a totally different jam: road trip vibes dial up to 11. It’s like herding cats in the best way possible and makes multiplayer a must-have, though it’s totally up to you.
Oh, and bringing Outbound to PS5 gave us a shot at leaning into the PlayStation Portal thing. Picture this: a pack of pals, each with a Portal, game on, in the back of a van—road trip style. No need for fancy tweaks; it just works. We can’t get enough of the whole lightweight, grab-and-go thing. What can I say? We hope you dig it, too.

### Fields of imagination
Tobi’s got this gem of a story about where Outbound sprouted. “I was road-tripping from Germany to the Netherlands,” he says, “spotted an old camper cruising by fields full of solar panels and windmills.” It was prototyping time, and boom, an electric van theme dropped into place. Sustainability, folks—that’s a thing for us.
“We made sure sustainability’s woven into every thread of Outbound,” Tobi keeps going. “Energy from sun, wind, and recycling torn up trash maps out new tricks your van can do. Sailboats dance on the horizon instead of gas-guzzling ships. That’s us playing with green ideas in gaming.”

### Give that furry friend some love
Dog lovers, listen up. Yep, there’s a pooch riding shotgun in Outbound, and yes, you can pet the cutie. But this pupper’s got game—fetching stuff, lugging it back to your ride, pulling more than just a heart-melt face.
Games drag us into these insane worlds, right? Wild beasts, epic battles—everything larger than life. But then, there’s Outbound, touching down closer to home. We’re pumped to send you all sprawling into this adventure when it hits PlayStation 5.
