Whoa, wild times in the dev world, huh? So, there’s this crew called Build A Rocket Boy — yeah, like, futuristic name, right? — and it looks like they’re about to cut some folks loose. Bummer. I guess around 300 people in the UK got emails about maybe losing their gigs. And get this, the PlayFusion team, which they picked up in 2024 (back when we were all figuring out if hoverboards were ever gonna be real), might be in the same boat.
So yeah, MindsEye dropped in June. Not the smoothest landing, let’s say. Critics tore it apart like it’s their favorite Sunday sport. It had more glitches than pixels, honestly. I remember a friend saying the game loaded like molasses in January. Imagine that.
Around July 3rd, Leslie Benzies — one of the big kahunas there — was talking and, out of nowhere, mentioned some “saboteurs,” like something straight out of a spy thriller. Are we in a movie? Seems like his co-CEO, Mark Gerhard, was also in on the whole conspiracy chat before launch. Maybe they’re onto something, or maybe it’s smoke and mirrors — you decide.
Oh, and just to add a pinch of salt, the MindsEye publisher — you know, those Hitman legends — waved off the sabotage rumors. No drama, just business, they said. Makes you wonder if anyone knows what’s up or if they’re all chasing shadows.
Anyway, enough of that rabbit hole. Fingers crossed for everyone involved. Tech, man. Full of surprises.
