Oh hey, it’s me rambling again. So, just wrapped up some intense therapy sesh—thanks to the chaos of The Last of Us Part II. And now I figure, let’s tone it down a bit. Sam Porter Bridges, with his whole “connect-the-world” gig in Death Stranding, seems just the ticket for my frazzled neurons. Seriously, what a guy.
I gotta say, the first Death Stranding was… wow, a trip. Played it a bunch of times and still feel like I’m decoding some ancient mystery. But it’s one of those good confusions, y’know? Like, “I have no clue what’s happening, but I’m totally here for it.” These Kojima worlds—so fantastically bizarre that sometimes I wonder if I’m too sober to play.
The OG Death Stranding somehow mashed up big brainy themes like “hey, human connection is a thing” with mad lunacy like extinction entities. It poked a finger at how our attempts to cheat death end up—couldn’t help but ponder that over coffee. Given the world’s state (yikes, am I right?), it’s oddly comforting to get lost in such storytelling right now.
So Kojima had to rejig Death Stranding 2 post-pandemic. Now it’s all about “Should We Have Connected?”—a question that’s been buzzing in my brain. Who knows what answers Kojima’s got stuffed up his sleeve, or if they’re even answers? Not sure, but I’m diving into his universe anyway. Needed the mental escape\—or whatever you call it.
And… that’s it for my weekend agenda. Stay vibrant during Pride, and game on!
