Oh man, where do I even start? So there’s this VR game, Eldramoor: Haven in the Mist. I stumbled onto it while sipping my morning coffee, which, by the way, I totally don’t recommend doing if you’re prone to spills—yep, learned that the hard way. Anyway, these folks over at Resolute Games, who apparently used to play Orbus VR, are gearing up to launch a Kickstarter soon. I guess they’re trying to capture that magical feeling Orbus once had before it did a disappearing act. They’re launching this whole endeavor for Quest 3 and SteamVR headsets, but not like, tomorrow. We’re talking late next year. Patience is key, my friend.
Turns out, Resolute isn’t just winging it. They’ve crafted this whole narrative around journeying to Eldramoor, following some legendary dude named Eldranis. Good name, right? Sounds like something out of a fantasy novel I pretend to have read. The game throws you into this world where you can be all kinds of things—a Warrior, a Mage, maybe even a Monk. And there’s this tavern with mini-games, which might be the highlight for people who enjoy digital pub hangouts.
Oh, and PvP zones. Because what’s a game without a little friendly competition? You can fish, forage, and even mine if that’s your jam. Honestly sounds like a lot, but fun for someone out there, I’m sure.
Funny enough, funding’s a bit of a mystery right now. They’re looking to hit a $25,000 target, same as some game called Zenith, which—confession—I had no clue existed until about ten minutes ago.
But let’s be real, VR MMORPGs are a tough crowd. Like, they’ve got history. Orbus VR kind of fizzled out earlier, and that other game, Zenith, hit financial hiccups. Guess that’s the nature of the beast.
Yet here we have Ilysia VR, powering through from its Kickstarter roots back in 2020. It’s still kicking—no pun intended—on Quest and SteamVR. Regular updates, people buying in-game extras and all that jazz.
Lynn Souza, the big brain behind Resolute, mentions how Orbus got old pretty quick since it was made for the Quest 1 in 2019. Things just evolve, I guess. Zenith and Ilysia popped up, and Souza was all in for Ilysia. Bet it was exciting to see that concept come to life.
Resolute Games is hoping to have Eldramoor ready by December 2026. Yet, we’ll see some version of it late 2025, fingers crossed. If you’re curious, the Kickstarter drops June 24th through July 24th. And yup, they’ve planted a little flag on Steam with a wishlist option, just begging for that click.
So, there it is in all its chaos. Spilled coffee and all.
