Okay, so let me get this straight. EA just pulled off this Battlefield 6 multiplayer shindig, right? It was like, all about what makes Battlefield, well, Battlefield. You know, blowing stuff up, massive maps, all that jazz. But, um, people were kinda expecting something more? Or maybe I imagined that. Whatever, let’s roll with it.
Apparently, they did this little sneak-peek thing. Or maybe I blinked and missed it. Anyway, they sort of hinted at something fans were buzzing about: a battle royale mode. Ripple Effect, the crew who worked on Battlefield Portal, is supposedly cooking this up. Or did I dream that?
So during this whole showcase, there was this teaser — like, blink and you’ll miss it. There were folks running, and I swear it was like they were dodging some kind of invisible chaos. And then, bam, there it was. A wall of fire. Dramatic, right? Plus, there were vehicles too. Obviously. I mean, it’s Battlefield. Duh.
Though they didn’t outright say it, everyone’s thinking, “Yep, that’s battle royale.” And could it carry the Firestorm name from Battlefield 5? Who knows. That fire ring though — gotta be a nod to it. But like, what if they keep the Firestorm thing going and toss it in with other maps? Confusing, much? Maybe hilarious too. Depends on how you look at it.
Oh, and they dropped a little nugget saying Battlefield Labs members get to try this thing early. Sweet deal or teaser torture? You decide. Anyway, chances are this mode’s gonna be free-to-play. Because, let’s face it, EA wants to pull in 100 million players or something. Call of Duty: Warzone did the free thing, so why not jump on that bandwagon, right?
Okay, I might’ve rambled. But you get the point. Or maybe you don’t. That’s cool too.
