Oh wow, so, Resolution Games just tossed us this little preview of their upcoming Dungeons & Dragons twist on Demeo (2021), you know, that VR-tabletop RPG everybody went wild over. Honestly, never thought I’d see these two worlds collide, but here we are.
Anyway, so they announced it in January, right? Finally, we get a sneak peek. We’ve got these clips showing off Demeo x DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: Battlemarked in action. It’s like they mixed up gameplay with these new environments. And, where was I going with this? Right, so you get up to four players going at it against these crazy monster-infested dungeons. I’m guessing this is gonna be as chaotic as a Friday night with friends.
Oh, and the dice! Gotta talk about the dice. You roll one for combat – kinda nerve-wracking, right? With faces showing swords for a hit, double for crits, and that dreaded skull for fails. Honestly, gives me flashbacks to my teenage years playing board games in a friend’s basement – always rolling a crit fail at the worst time!
There’s more: battle cards! Sorta like your arsenal of attacks, defenses, heals, yada yada. Each character gets their own special set. And get this, they’re not just sticking to VR. It’s coming to Steam and PS5 in flatscreen too. For folks who get dizzy with VR goggles, thank you.
Mark your calendars or, you know, just kind of remember, ’cause they’re dropping Battlemarked on VRs and PCs in late 2025. They’ll spill more details soon, like the exact date, other platforms, and, oh yeah, the second adventure! Didn’t see that coming. Bonus content at launch. Who’da thought?
And guess who’s teaming up with them? Matt Sernett. If you’re deep into D&D lore, you probably know this guy. Worked on Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale. Talk about bringing some street cred, right?
If you’re the kind to plan ahead, you can wishlist it now on Horizon Store, PlayStation Store, and Steam. But yeah, let’s wait and see if it lives up to the hype or fizzles out like last year’s New Year’s resolutions. Stay tuned!
