Pokémon TCG Unveils Pocket Wisdom of Sea and Sky Expansion

So, here’s the thing: big news from Pokémon land. Apparently, The Pokémon Company International just dropped the scoop on this new expansion called Wisdom of Sea and Sky. And guess what — it’s hitting Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket next week. Mark the date: Wednesday, July 30, 2025 – suddenly feels like it’s never going to come.

Picture this: Pokémon from the Johto region are back. You know, the ones from Pokémon Gold and Silver — Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, and the heavy hitters like Lugia and Ho-Oh. It’s like a nostalgic slap in the face, in a good way.

Oh, and there’s a twist this time. New Pokémon are coming in with attacks that cost zilch, nada, zero energy. Imagine the strategies bubbling up just because of that! I mean, I wouldn’t even know where to start, but someone probably does.

But wait — okay, so here’s the part that threw me off. They’re shaking up the Trade feature too. First, there’s this Wishlist thing. Now, players can just flaunt which cards they’re dying to swap. It’s all laid out neatly in the My Cards section, where you can highlight a bunch, or just a few top picks.

And then, there’s this bit I nearly missed — trade tokens are out the window. Sorry if you were attached. Instead, shinedust is your new best friend for trading rare cards. You snag this mystical dust by smashing goals in the game or just having duplicates. Like, got doubles? Congrats, you’re winning shinedust.
