Samsung, trying to be the big cheese in the chip world. Who would’ve thought? But yeah, they’re making waves with this 2nm thing. Somewhere in a report—pretty sure it was from Korea—they’re saying Samsung’s breathing down TSMC’s neck. NVIDIA and Qualcomm are sniffing around, almost ready to jump in. So yeah, it’s a bit of a showdown.
Too many folks are lining up for TSMC. Apple, NVIDIA, and the rest can’t just stick with one supplier. I mean, it’s like putting all your eggs in one basket while playing in a tornado. Not smart. Samsung, despite some hiccups with their old 3nm stuff (not great with yields and all that), seems like they’re getting a fresh start with 2nm.
Oh, and there’s a picture of some fancy Samsung gear. Yep, that’s tech porn for you if you’re into it.
Samsung’s pushing their yield game hard—currently at 40%, which isn’t too shabby and on the rise. TSMC’s not that much ahead at 60%, so it’s neck and neck. Everyone’s curious about their US production plans, particularly at the Taylor facility. Could be a game-changer.
Looks like Samsung’s holding their own. Let’s see if they can actually pull this off. It’ll be a wild ride, no doubt about that.
