Huawei is gearing up for a major move in the PC market with their first AI-driven laptop set to launch by April. This innovative device is expected to feature entirely homegrown components, such as the Kunpeng-920 processor.
Huawei Unveils New AI Laptop with Kunpeng-920 Processor, Enhancing Edge AI Capabilities
In a strategic bid to dominate China’s tech landscape, Huawei is shifting its focus towards the commercial PC market. After hitting notable milestones in the mobile and AI sectors, the company is now laying the groundwork for this ambitious project. According to tech enthusiast @tphuang, Huawei’s upcoming PC will showcase in-house components, a development that minimizes supply chain issues while tapping into fresh market opportunities.

Though details remain under wraps, Huawei hints through Huawei Central that the laptop will be part of the "Qingyun" series. This product range spans various digital devices, including notebooks, desktops, and smart TVs. One standout feature is the integration of DeepSeek technology, which mirrors the AI functionalities seen in Microsoft’s Copilot+-enabled gadgets. However, Huawei is channeling this innovation primarily for the domestic market, stirring significant anticipation.
A fascinating aspect of this launch is its reliance on 100% Chinese-manufactured products, led by the Kunpeng-920 processor. This processor, built on the ARMv8 architecture, offers a range from four to sixteen cores for consumer models, and up to a hefty 64 cores in server variants.
The new device will run on a version of HarmonyOS tailored for PCs, leveraging DeepSeek for enhanced edge AI interactions. As Huawei transitions to using its own tech resources, this move signals promising prospects for performance and innovation. While the official release date is aimed for April, it’s yet to be confirmed.
