Listen, so here’s this thing about Sumo Group, right? They’ve been around like, what, 22 years, and now the big shots — Carl Cavers, Paul Porter, and that Darren Mills guy — well, they’re peacing out. Just like that. Imagine building this whole empire and then, poof, you’re off. Kinda wild if you ask me.
And here’s where it gets all business-y. Andy Stewart, who’s been handling the dough as CFO, and Gary Dunn, who just got a sweet bump up, are now sharing the CEO seat. It’s like musical chairs, but with way more paperwork, I guess. Oh, and Tim Repa-Davies — the legal brainiac — is now on the board. Bet he’s thrilled!
Carl’s all like, “Walking away is tough, but hey, now’s the time.” Seriously though, after two decades, that’s a long time to just decide to bounce. But he’s proud, and they all think Sumo’s got legs to keep going. Guess those legs must be pretty sturdy.
Andy says it’s all part of the plan. You know, some evolution mumbo jumbo. Staying true and looking ahead, blah blah. Got it, Andy. But can we talk about how wild it must feel to leave something behind after all these years? Must be like watching your kid graduate or something. Anyway — wait, where was I going with this? Right, they’re excited for the future. Aren’t they always?
So yeah, Sumo’s changing guard, but they say it’s cool and fresh. Here’s hoping they don’t forget where they put the keys. Or maybe I’m just overthinking it. Who knows.
