Alright, so get this. The whole space wizard, laser sword thing with Destiny? Yeah, it’s always felt like it had this Star Wars vibe, know what I mean? But now, boom! Destiny 2’s just gone full-on Star Wars. Like, Lucasfilm stamped and all, with this new thing called Renegades. And, brace yourself, ’cause lightsabers and Darth Vader are coming along for the ride. Wild, right?
So, the folks at Bungie — you know, the masterminds behind Destiny — dropped the news about Renegades. It’s hitting the scene on December 2. They did this whole reveal thing during a Year of Prophecy livestream. There was this teaser, all drenched in Star Wars-y stuff. You could almost hear the iconic hum of lightsabers, you know? And seriously, Han Solo’s blaster? Sign me up! And get this — they’ve got a bunch of Dark Side skins for Hunters, Titans, and Warlocks. We’re talking General Grievous, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren — you name it. Part of the Year of Prophecy Ultimate Edition package. Oh, and there’s another expansion called The Edge of Fate lined up for July. Busy year, huh?
But yeah, details are skimpy, as always. It’s not just about looking the part with all them Star Wars-themed outfits. The teaser showed Guardians zooming across this sandy place that screams Tatooine. Apparently, Bungie devs spilled the beans during the livestream — that desert world? Totally Star Wars turf.
And beyond just skins? Yeah, expect more gear for your sparrows and whatnot. If you can’t get a fancy Marksman-H combat remote for your Ghost soon, then, I dunno, maybe the universe is off its axis or something.
Destiny 2’s kind of been playing footsie with Star Wars for a bit now. Remember back in February? They threw in cosmetics that had this Stormtrooper feel—Death Trooper, Imperial Guard, all that jazz via the Heresy expansion. Anyway, Renegades and The Edge of Fate are both coming this year for pretty much any platform you can think of — PS4, PS5, Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X. So, you know, get ready to dive in!
