Sure thing!

Ever feel like diving back into The Witcher 3? Especially now that it’s hit that ten-year mark? Yeah, I get it. Everyone’s on this nostalgia train, replaying the classics. And hey, maybe all the chatter about a Witcher remake has got you itching to replay it. Well, guess what? There’s this mod out there that might just shake things up a bit for you.
So here’s the deal. Picture swapping out the Witcher 3’s skill system for that of an earlier game. Sounds kinda wild, right? But it could be cool seeing how it stacks up. Maybe you’ll like it, maybe not. Who knows.
Now about this mod. It’s by someone named Gerwant30. Apparently, they’ve got quite the rep, having scored a second-place win in a modding contest by CD Projekt once. Yeah, impressive, right? A real talent for sure.
Okay, so what’s this mod all about? Well, it brings the OG Witcher skill system into Witcher 3. The idea? Give you way more control over Geralt’s character development. We’re talking 13 new talent trees and north of 200 new skills. Sounds like a lot to take in, I know.
From what I saw in a video—sorry, no link here, imagine it in your mind’s eye—you’re earning bronze, silver, and gold talents as you progress. Start with bronze and work your way up. Typical RPG stuff but with a Witcher twist.
There are these four main skill trees, plus some separate ones for the Witcher signs, focused on specialized play styles. Kind of like choosing between strong and fast combat moves with those classic steel and silver swords. Makes you think about build strategy more than gear, which… maybe that’s your kind of jam.
Oh, heads up! This baby’s designed for a fresh run in the base game. So no loading up your old saves or using it with the DLCs. Nope. And you’ll need another mod called ‘Alchemy’ from some dude named SkylineR390. So, prepare for a bit of a download spree if you’re intrigued.
Anyway, other mods like one by PsychoCaki and some camera tweaks are recommended to pair with it.
So, were you a fan of the old school Witcher skill vibe or has The Witcher 3’s style grown on you? I’m curious. Hit me up with your thoughts!
