Oh boy, August 15th. Yeah, it’s a holiday in Italy, but for me, it’s like, on a whole different level of coolness. It’s my blog’s birthday! Yep, back in 2016, some dude named Tommaso Di Bartolo told me to plunge into the blogging world. Honestly didn’t think I’d stick with it after that first cringe-worthy article, but heck, here we are – nine bright and bumpy years later. Time flies when you’re figuring stuff out, right?
You all who’ve stuck with me, seriously, thanks. Blogging isn’t all sunshine and roses – especially when you’re elbow-deep in a niche like VR. Ever thought about saying “ciao” to this hobby? I sure did. Like, lots. But every comment, every story about how an article helped someone grab an investment or dive into XR tech… it all sort of hits you right in the feels, you know? Makes staring at my screen worth the while, even if my bank account doesn’t agree.
And you know what’s nuts? Meeting people. Yep, traveling and shaking hands – or doing that awkward wave thing – with so many fascinating folks in the community. It’s the stuff that spices up the virtual world journey. It’s not just tech; it’s the faces and smiles behind it.
This year, like every other, I wanted to gift you something rad for sticking around and tuning into my ramblings. Enter: “The Reverend” Kyle Riesenbeck from Upload VR. This guy was kind enough to chat with me for a solid 50 minutes – I know, right? – and share stories about VR’s roots. He’s been a bit of a hero since I dipped my toe into this XR pool. But no, the interview isn’t out today, because duh, summer. But hey, there’s a sneak peek video babbling somewhere below. Go check out Kyle’s slice of nostalgia from, well, the “old-but-gold” VR days.
And, wow… it’s nine years – who’s got the cake? Pleasedonotmakeitaduriancake.
(Header pic kinda done by ChatGPT… the irony!)
Oh, quick side note – gotta keep the lights on with some ads and affiliate links sprinkled around. If you click ’em, I do a little happy dance. No pressure, but, you know, it’s a win-win. Anyway, here’s the super-duper-disclosure stuff somewhere on the blog. Keep being awesome, guys!
