Hey there! I’m Juan Martinez, the executive producer at Fatshark, and I’ve had the awesome opportunity of being part of the Warhammer 40,000: Darktide team. I’m thrilled to extend a warm welcome to all the PlayStation fans who’ll be joining us on this thrilling, grimdark adventure.

Recently, we swung open the gates for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide on PS5 for those who’ve snagged the Imperial Edition through pre-order. The anticipation is electric as we gear up for the full launch for all PS5 players on December 3rd!

Darktide made its debut on PC back in November 2022, and since then, we’ve been hustling non-stop, bringing you nine major additions and over 25 updates packed with new content and enhancements. As we roll out the PS5 version, we’re also unleashing our 10th major free update, Grim Protocols, with plenty more excitement planned for the future.

Fast-paced Combat, Fatshark Style

Creating a game within the Warhammer 40,000 universe has been a long-standing dream of ours. With Darktide, we’ve made that dream come true. Dive into this co-op action game, where you and three others play as conscripted convicts, known as Rejects, under the command of the Inquisition. Your mission? Take back the city of Tertium from the clutches of Chaos. Armed with a perfected blend of melee and ranged combat systems, you’ll face fierce battles for survival.

Bringing Darktide to PS5 and PS5 Pro

Porting Darktide to PS5 involved a lot of dedicated effort to ensure an amazing experience tailored to the console’s capabilities. Players on PS5 can decide between Performance Mode, which runs at 60FPS on 1440p, and Quality Mode, boasting 30FPS at 4K resolution. For those with a PS5 Pro, we’ve harnessed PSSR technology to offer a consistent 60FPS at 4K resolution.

We also delved deep into the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback of the DualSense controller. Our aim was clear: make the DualSense feel like a natural extension of the Darktide world. Whether you’re unloading explosive rounds from the Boltgun or wielding the accuracy of the Lasgun, every weapon swap offers a distinctly immersive sensation.

Unlock Your Potential

Stepping into Tertium, you’ll find our character creator packed with options, allowing you to shape your Reject’s appearance, class, background, and voice to your liking. This level of customization empowers you to become an integral part of the world in a way that feels personal and deeply engaging.

Each class comes with its own intricate talent tree, giving you the chance to tweak your gameplay style across three primary domains or sub-classes. Plus, with our revamped Itemization system, gaining expertise in any of the 40+ weapon families is a breeze.

An Evolving Adventure

Mark your calendars for December 3rd. Not only are we launching the game on PlayStation, but we’re also dropping Grim Protocols, which is packed with exciting new content. Get ready for Havoc, an endgame mode dedicated to seasoned operatives seeking the ultimate challenge.

There’s also a fresh mission joining our extensive 20+ mission lineup. This time, players get to explore the Carnival, renowned for its mix of entertainment and edgy distractions.

Three new weapon families are debuting, allowing you to obliterate foes using the Two-Handed Force and Power Swords, as well as the Ogryn Heavy Stubber.
