Whoa, so get this—Stainless Games just made a big change at the top. Ben Gunstone, yeah, he’s the new CEO. Wild, right? He’s stepping into the shoes of Patrick Buckland, the guy who’s been running the show since, like, 1994. That’s ages ago. Anyway, Ben popped up at Stainless in 2022 as a game director—I guess that worked out for him. He’s bounced around to operations director before landing the big gig. Oh, and before that, he hung out at Dovetail Games for a bit.
Ben’s all excited, talking about how pumped and humbled he is to snag the CEO role. It’s that classic “honored” vibe, you know? He mentioned something about the legacy Patrick left. Thirty years is a long time, so I guess that’s a thing. Patrick’s sticking around as some kind of Executive Chairman Jedi Master or something, offering wisdom and whatnot.
Patrick, though—he’s a character. He’s turning 62 this year but jokes he doesn’t look a day over 70. Classic! He’s ready to chill a bit, trade in the CEO stress for more game-making fun. He’s still the majority shareholder, so Stainless is kinda still his baby. But now he’s letting Ben drive the day-to-day bus. It’s like passing the torch, but with more gaming and fewer fire hazards. So, yeah, onwards and upwards or something like that.
