Yesterday, Bigscreen kicked off orders for its much-anticipated Beyond 2 PC VR headset, which promises a superior field of view and enhanced clarity thanks to an innovative pancake lens design. According to the company, sales took off at an impressive pace, with Beyond 2 surpassing its predecessor, the original Beyond, by a wide margin within just 10 hours of going live.
Bigscreen took to X to update its followers on how Beyond 2 is performing among PC VR fans. “In the first 25 minutes alone, Beyond 2 outdid our first day sales of Beyond 1. After one hour, sales had already doubled,” the company proudly shared.
As the release day progressed, Bigscreen continued to dish out more exciting sales stats for both Beyond 2 and its eye-tracking variant, the Beyond 2e. The latest figures are genuinely astounding. “In just 10 hours post-launch, Beyond 2 had exceeded the sales we saw in the first four months of Beyond 1.”
Bigscreen is clearly seeing demand outpace expectations: shipments for Beyond 2 and Beyond 2e are now projected for June 2025, as they’ve already shot through the initial batch allocations set for April and May.
So, what’s driving all this enthusiasm for Beyond 2? While you can dive into the full specs elsewhere, a big draw might be Bigscreen’s thoughtful upgrade path. Owners of the original Beyond can snag a Beyond 2 at a special price—$849, or $1049 for the Beyond 2e. Plus, most Beyond 1 accessories, like the crucial custom facial interface, will work seamlessly with Beyond 2.
Beyond 2 itself sports a host of new features, including a revamped pancake lens design for a broader 116-degree FOV, an adjustable inter-pupillary distance, and a light 107g build. Users opting for the Beyond 2e will enjoy the benefits of AI-driven eye-tracking. While it retains dual 1-inch 2,560 × 2,560 micro-OLED displays from its predecessor, the new lenses provide clearer visuals and a wider field of view.
Pricing for Beyond 2 and 2e sits at $1,019 and $1,219, respectively, with discounts available for existing Beyond 1 owners. Additionally, Bigscreen has introduced a fresh halo-style mount and a Lightblocker facial interface, set to debut in the third quarter of 2025.
For those eager to get their hands on the latest gear, it’s all available for purchase now on the Bigscreen website.
